Dr. Abhishika Sharma is Deputy Registrar, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator- MAJMC at the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. She holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Commerce, and a Doctor of Philosophy in JMC in "Facebook Advertising". Dr.Sharma has a combined academic and professional experience of 17 years. She has previously worked as an Additional Head and Assistant Professor at various universities in Jaipur. She has published eighteen papers in scholarly publications that are cited on a national and international scale. She has presented several research papers at conferences on both the national and international levels.

Dr. Amit Verma is Assistant Registrar and Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. He previously worked as an Assistant professor and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at reputed universities. He earned his Ph.D. in Community Radio Stations of Rajasthan. He published several research papers and has participated as an invited speaker in many workshops, conferences, and FDPs sponsored by the UGC, ICSSR, PMMIT, and MHRD.

Dr. Kadambari, a seasoned researcher and educator, specializes in the intersection of gender, media, and society. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator at the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. Her prior roles were Academic cum Teaching Associate at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, a Faculty at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida and an Assistant Professor at Institute of Engineering and Technology, Alwar. Her role as Editor at Bhartrihari Times, Alwar, highlights her journalistic prowess. Her Ph.D. from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, delves into the impact of social media and patriarchal values on social constructs.

Dr. Eishita Das is working as an Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur. She has completed her Master's and Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Journalism from Tezpur University, Assam. Her interest areas in academia include environmental communication, communication research, broadcast journalism, media law & ethics. Her doctoral thesis explored the ways in which communication can promote environmental consciousness among the youth of Assam. Her research work is published in reputed peer-reviewed journals. She has also presented her research work at several academic conferences.

Yes. From the academic year 2022-23, it has been made mandatory for all universities offering courses in online or distance learning modes to create ABC accounts for all their students as per the UGC regulation and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital storehouse of the credits earned by students during their academic journey. It is a credit bank for students that allows them to accumulate, verify, transfer, and redeem their credits. This is an initiative from the Ministry of Education, Government of India to enable academic flexibility and students’ mobility across multiple Higher Education Institutes (HEIs).  The University Grants Commission (UGC) has mandated that every learner who is an Indian national needs to submit the following details for creating their ABC account:

  • Roll number issued by the university
  • Aadhar number (12 digits)
  • Name (as mentioned in Aadhaar)
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Mobile number (linked to their Aadhaar)

The university will reach out to enrolled students for details required to create their ABC accounts and will provide these details to UGC. Once the ABC account is created, the credits earned by the learners in their term-end exam will get deposited into their respective ABC accounts which they can redeem within 7 years.
