Is it mandatory for all online students to have an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) account?
Yes. From the academic year 2022-23, it has been made mandatory for all universities offering courses in online or distance learning modes to create ABC accounts for all their students as per the UGC regulation and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital storehouse of the credits earned by students during their academic journey. It is a credit bank for students that allows them to accumulate, verify, transfer, and redeem their credits. This is an initiative from the Ministry of Education, Government of India to enable academic flexibility and students’ mobility across multiple Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has mandated that every learner who is an Indian national needs to submit the following details for creating their ABC account:
- Roll number issued by the university
- Aadhar number (12 digits)
- Name (as mentioned in Aadhaar)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Mobile number (linked to their Aadhaar)
The university will reach out to enrolled students for details required to create their ABC accounts and will provide these details to UGC. Once the ABC account is created, the credits earned by the learners in their term-end exam will get deposited into their respective ABC accounts which they can redeem within 7 years. What is the selection process?
All applications will be evaluated for eligibility by the admissions team of Manipal University Jaipur. In case the university requires further clarification or documents, the candidate will be intimated via email, SMS or phone. Final decision regarding selection will be notified to the candidate within five working days of submitting the application.
How will I know about the status of my admission?

When will students get access to their Learning Management System (LMS)?
Students will receive the credentials to access their LMS within 72 hours of confirmation of their admission from the university.
Will students be able to access the Learning Management System (LMS) from anywhere?
Students who have paid their fee in INR (Indian Rupees) and have been admitted in the domestic (India) category will be able to access their LMS from anywhere in India. International learners (foreign nationals and non-resident Indians) who have paid the fee in USD will be able to access the LMS from anywhere in the world.
I am an Indian national working abroad. Would I be able to access the LMS if I enroll as a domestic student?
No, you will not be able to access the LMS while abroad. If you are working abroad or are based outside India for longer durations, please enroll as an international student to have unrestricted access to the LMS.
I am an Indian national who works in India but travels abroad on work frequently. Will I be given LMS access outside of India?
All India nationals paying fee in INR will be considered domestic students and will be given access to the LMS only within India. Leaners who travel overseas frequently are advised to register themselves as international students to suit their convenience & work schedules.
I am an international student. Can I access the LMS from all other countries?
Yes. International students can access the LMS from all countries, including India.
Will the program have live lectures and webinars?
Yes. The program is delivered through a mix of live lectures, pre- recorded videos and discussion forums in which students can interact directly with faculty and self-paced learning. Self-paced learning is driven by video lectures, e-books, quizzes, and assignments that are delivered using a state-of-the-art Learning Management System (LMS).
How can I get my academic queries answered?
Students will be assigned dedicated course mentors and coordinators who can be contacted to clarify doubts using discussion forums, instant messaging, and email on the Learning Management System (LMS). Students can also interact with course coordinators during live webinars.

What is the examination pattern for online degrees at Manipal University Jaipur?
The University term-end examination (TEE) will be held digitally viz. computer-based and online proctored.
Candidates can appear for the exams from the comfort of their homes.
The details of the examination schedule will be made available in the photo admit card. Other details on the examination pattern are available in the program guide provided to students.
Examination results will be published on the student portal. If a student fails to clear any of the papers (either in UE or IA or both), he must re-appear by applying to the University through the re-sitting application along with relevant fees, within the due date.
On satisfying all criteria stipulated by the University, successful students will be awarded their respective program degree by the University.
Are there any mandatory sessions?
Students are expected to attend live classes, watch recorded sessions, and go through at least 75% of the self-learning content (reading material and video lectures) available on LMS. This would ensure they are eligible to appear for the final exams.
What is the evaluation & assessment pattern?
A student’s performance evaluation will be based on both continuous assessments (CA) through assignments and term-end examinations (TEE) which consist of descriptive and multiple-choice questions. A student must score at least 40% in each of these to be declared as having passed the exam. The assessment ratios of TEE to CA is 70:30.
Practical papers (as applicable)
The assessment in the practical part is based on performance in guided exercises (i.e., day-to-day exercises) and unguided exercises. The latter will be conducted on the last day of the practical sessions in each subject with an external examiner.
A student must score at least 40% in both the parts to be declared as having passed.
When will I get access to the learning modules?
After admission is confirmed by the university, students will receive access to the Learning Management System (LMS), student portal and e-library. Students can then start accessing the course material and begin their learning journey.
What is the minimum grade to complete the online degree program?
Students must score at least 40% in continuous evaluation and 40% in term-end examinations in each course to successfully complete the program. In case the minimum score is not attained, they will need to apply for a re-sit with applicable fees and appear for exam to pass the course.
What are the study materials given to learners of online degree programs at Manipal University Jaipur?
Students are given access to an exhaustive e-library with 200,000+ books, video lectures, audio-visual interactive material, virtual classroom sessions, audio podcasts, virtual simulations, and self-assessment quizzes or tests. Students are free to download e-books and print them for convenience.
How much time should I dedicate to complete the learning activities?
Although the learning is flexible, students are expected to spend at least 15-20 hours per week watching concept videos, reading learning material, attempting quizzes, and attending live webinars. This would ensure that you get your degree within the minimum duration.
